i cant wait to tell you this news, grindline recently broke ground in trinidad colorado. the bowl could be up to 11feet deep and will have steel coping to accomodate the bikers. the crew just finished a wicked park in west linn, or and has definite plans on doing a park in nags head, nc. oh how the east needs a grindline park for everyone to flock to. and... athens, oh is almost a definite go for grindline.

the local 5.9 guys are on a mission to shut down skater island. their doing this by building a bunch of parks in the rhode island and boston area. sloppy sam has a concrete crew going, and im telling ya now, look out. they all build gnarly shit.

caleb moore's wooden skate structures are the shit. an indoor park in ft collins wanted to bowl part of their spine ramp and caleb hooked them up. he worked the 7 1/2 radius tranny down to 5 1/2 at hip, the next pocket escalates from 6 to 8 feet high and back down to the spine. the other side has a pocket that esclates from 6 to 11 and melts into a banked wall. and then the deck rolling into the other mini.... and the concrete coping....

team pain wood, headed by dave ellis, is building a huge private indoor park in burlington, ky (not positive about the city, but close to there). the mini is suppose to be wide and full of toys, while the vert ramp is said to include a 16 wide extension that goes OVERVERT.

theres another dreamland project thats about to up the anne. hailey, idaho will be on the map in about 2 weeks, when red finishes his latest (and rumor has it gnarliest) skatepark. some specs include 14' dia full pipe that you can either carve through, or go over to get to/ from A) the deep end thats 11' deep with banks and hips or B) that has a 15' quarter pipe with no flat before it trannys up and over the full pipe. theres smaller roundwall on this side also. fuck it, its to hard to describe, i saw the pics, your gonna flip.

i heard this great rumor and got the story from fullpipe dan:

Yeah, Brewce is so Retarded that he called the chief of police and the mayors office because our buddy got harrassed by the police because of his association with Brewce (Brewce punched somebody and got kicked out of the park then came back with different disguises), as you can imagine, Brewce got a huge charge out of it, especially when the police came into the park with like 6-8 of them and a fire truck, I think the fire truck was a diversion. The police all walked around the park the same direction and Brewce split. He made the calls the next day and got invited by the mayor to come in.........basically the mayor is nuts, wish we had more like him. I think he's more stoked on the park and the skateboarding than anything else he's doing as mayor. He says he's the Extreme Mayor. He is if he's giving Brewce the key to the city. I'd like to here how Salba describes it, I got this off of my friend that was hanging out with them all ! day and got the key too. Shit if I had hung out all day I would have got a key.

the new 'crete skatepark in rhy, new hampshire was built too close to the watershed. on grand opening there was 2' of water in the bottom of the deep bowl.... the fuckin idiot seems to be engineers who didnt take the watershed into account. now they have to configure some sort of pump system to keep the water level below the deep bowl.

shit just hit the fan. 40,000 square feet of 'crete, a 24' dia full pipe, deep bowls, snake runs, open 24hrs, and FREE. cheap motels, strip bars, easy drinkin, baseball and the park. science says its the best park alive! sonja heard the reason all the money was spent on the park was to keep 18 to 25 year olds in the area with something to do. sounds like a plan to me.

my friend sonja is in charge of a 5 park tour that promotes free public parks around the US. rumored to be the spots are aumsville and newberg in 1 weekend in late july, the denver city park, st augustine, fl and 1 more undecided (possibly fdr?) to follow about 2 weeks apart. how could it get any better? the after party should be rocking with volcom bands and perhaps the premier of 'root of the fruit' volume 0...

by mid march all of team pain (wood and concrete crews) and then some will be lodged near bakersfield, ca to build an all year round skateboard camp facility for the woodward people. the concrete section is rumored to have a burnside like back wall and crazy amounts of curves AND a vegabond pool replica. in mid april some of the crew will finish up the lansing michigan park by building an egg bowl. this will be in addition to an already rockin bowly section. lastly... these concrete molders are suppose to build a concrete replica of the OLD hanger bowl (you know the one with the spine...) in phase 2 at ripons already rad skatepark.(isnt ripon already the best park in cali?)

the concrete challenge held this past weekend in colorado was ruled by east coasters. there was so much fun and beer, i dont know how anyone could say anything bad about it.

devner on friday-
benji galloway (sc) ruled it with his whole bag of tricks spilling out. todd johnson (fl) showed off his old school style and everyone loved it. a well deserved 2nd. science fair (nc) displayed a unique style that no one else could ever dublicate. 3rd place was all his.

aspen on sunday-
science fair (nc) at his 53rd spot in 43 days, blows everyone away. he was hitting the whole bowl in every run with whacky flavor. ben khran (pa) stayed on and kept going. his bag was smooth and his approach was effortless. 2nd place on his kickass new model. wrex cook (co) blasted the biggest airs and some sick lip tricks. the cat with a helmet disguise got 3rd place.
