crater lakes
this is a couple of many great lil lakes at 11,000 feet above sea level in this area. lots of people camp at the lower lake, but we had the upper one to ourselves. this is a hike i did with uncle jim, a pro hiker from back east.

 these hikes are all about following the water as far as you can

coming down the mountain

this is looking down to the lower lake. if you had xray vision, you would see the train tunnel under here

the lower lake again and beyond

this was the edge of the upper lake, ready to take that plunge you saw above

its a great spot to end up

upper lake down low

thats the continential divide up there. this waters going to the atlantic

on the way back down, the moss was looking trippy
